Family Home Entrance
A concept for the part of a home everybody passes through and nobody designs: the arrival sequence.
The brief
An entrance hall carries the first impression and the daily mess at the same time. The concept treats it as a proper room — durable speckled flooring, a dark balustrade to hide wear, and warm wall light instead of a single ceiling fitting.
Design approach
- Hard-wearing terrazzo-style floor for a high-traffic route
- Dark stair joinery to disguise everyday marks
- Paired wall lights at eye level for a warm arrival
- Concealed storage planned for shoes, bags and keys
